How does it feel when a mother no longer recognises her own daughter?
How does one cope with the unloved role as a caring daughter when not only the dream job falls victim to care?
Could the new partnership have a chance despite the constant overload of caring for the mother with dementia?
How do you deal with the accusations of outsiders who know everything better and yet contribute nothing to care?
What do you do when you realise that your mother is a victim of care abuses?
In a sensitive and open way, the author describes her mother’s gradual personality change, the long road to diagnosis and the great challenges that care and nursing demanded of her.
She lets us share her feelings and thoughts, her confrontation with their shared past, the seemingly endless parting and the reconciliation on her deathbed. The experience has left deep traces and yet changed her view of life in a positive way.
